Academic Regulations for Master’s Program Students

  • 本所碩士班研究生之入學、修課、考試及畢業等有關事項,依本校學則及本規則辦理。

Article 1      The admission, course taking, and examination of the master students of the Department of Institute of Instruction and Technology (hereinafter the Department) are processed according to the Regulations of National Chi Nan University (hereinafter the University) and the Academic Regulations for Master’s Program Students (hereinafter the Regulations)

  • 第一章 入學與修課

Chapter I   Admission and Course taking

第二條  本所碩士班招收對象包括一般生和在職生。

Article 2   The Department recruits two kinds of students: full-time graduate students, and part-time in-service graduate students.

第三條  本所碩士班研究生之修業年限,以一至四年為限,在職研究生至多得延長二年。

Article 3    The term of study for master students of the department is limited for a maximum of four academic years, and part-time in-service students can extend two more years at most.

第四條  本所碩士班課程分為基礎課程必修十學分,選修至少二學分;理論課程必修四學分,選修至少六學分;應用課程選修至少八學分。除論文外,共合計最低需修滿三十二學分。

Article 4   The master’s program of the Department is composed of “Fundamental Curriculum” (including 10 required credits and at least 2 elective credits), “Theoretical Curriculum” (including 4 required credits and at least 6 elective credits) and “Applied Curriculum” (including at least 8 elective credits). Other than the thesis, graduate students should undertake at least 32 credits.

第五條  本所一般生第一學年每學期最低應修九學分,最高為十二學分;在職生(含報考一般生,但入學後實際上有專任工作且在職者)第一學年每學期選修至少六學分,最高十學分。若有特殊原因者,須具體述明理由,經導師或指導教授同意後,且由所務會議審核通過後方屬有效。

Article 5     After admission, full-time graduate students and in-service students taking full-time study shall complete a minimum of 9 credits and a maximum of 12 credits of master’s program courses each semester in the first year; in-service graduate students taking part-time study shall complete a minimum of 6 credits and maximum of 10 credits of master’s program courses each semester in the first year. If special reasons are required to specifically state the grounds, it will be valid after mentor’s or advisor’s consent, and reviewed by the executive meeting of the Department Affairs.

第六條  本所碩士班研究生若欲選修他系所之課程,須經本所同意後方採計其學分。至於跨校選修部份,依本校相關規定辦理。

Article 6      A master student of the Department wanting to take the courses of other departments shall fill the application form of credit transfer and submit it to the Meeting of Department Affairs. The credits shall be taken into account as credits for graduation after the application are passed by the Meeting of Department Affairs. As for inter-institution elective part, it shall be handled in accordance with the relevant provisions of the school.

第七條  本所碩士班研究生若於入學前已獲他校碩士學位者,或已修讀教育相關研究所在職進修學分班結業者,其原修習課程如與本所碩士班課程相似,其學分採計辦法,依教育部及本校相關規定辦理。

Article 7     If a master student of the Department obtained a master degree(s) from other universities or completed education-related in-service master credit program before admission, the credits of the courses, which have been accomplished with passed grades and are the same as those in the Department master’s program, shall be transferred according to related regulations of the Ministry of Education and the University.

第八條  本所研究生各科學業成績以一百分為滿分,七十分為及格;不及格者不得補考,必修科目應予重修。

Article 8     The graduate students’ academic score is at least 70 over scale of 100. Those who fail in the exams shall not take make-up exams and the required subjects must be retaken next semester.

 

  • 第二章 考試畢業

Chapter II Examination, Graduation

第九條  論文指導教授之選定,以本所專任教師為優先,其次為本所兼任教師。如因論文研究需要,可商請非本所專、兼任教師擔任指導教授。論文指導教授最多以二人為限。

Article 9      The candidates of thesis advisers shall be selected first from the Department full-time or jointly appointed teachers and secondly from the Department part-time teachers. If there is a need from thesis research, full-time, part-time, or jointly appointed teachers from outside the Department shall be invited as advisers. The advisers of a thesis shall be no more than 2.

第十條   指導教授之決定由研究生先行洽詢教師意願,並填寫申請書經所務會議通過後,依學校程序致發聘函。

Article 10    In principle, the decisions on the selection of adviser(s) shall be initiated with the consent of the invited teacher(s) and followed by filling an application form. The filled application form shall be signed by the Department and transferred to the Dean of the College of Education and the President of the University will issue a letter of adviser appointment.

第十一條 本所碩士班研究生論文題目之選定,需徵得指導教授與所務會議同意。

Article 11    A graduate student’s decision on the thesis topic shall gain approval from his/her adviser(s) and the Meeting of Department Affairs.

第十二條 研究生對論文題目之修改及論文內容之研究與撰寫,應受指導教授之指導。指導教授之變更須經新任指導教授與所務會議之同意,並知會原指導教授。

Article 12   A graduate student’s decision on revision of thesis topic and writing of thesis shall be conducted under the instruction of his/her adviser(s). The change of adviser(s) must be approved by new adviser(s) and the Meeting of Department Affairs. The former adviser(s) shall be informed with the change.

第十三條 本所碩士班研究生學位考試之申請,應具備下列各項資格:

Article 13   A master student of the Department who applies for degree examination shall obtain all the following qualifications:

         一、 修畢本所規定之畢業學分數(不含論文),附學校核發的成績單、發表著作證明,且通過研究計畫口試達四個月以上者,方能提出論文口試之申請。

          1. Completing courses amounting to no less than 32 credits (excluding thesis) based on the course regulations of the Department. Attach with the transcript issued by the university and the certificate of academic publications, people who have passed the oral presentations for research plan up to 4 months can apply for the oral defense.

              二、修業期間在國內外學術期刊或專書(具外審制度)發表一篇(章)以上論文,或在國內外學術研討會發表二篇以上論文。

     2.  Publishing at least one paper in a domestic or foreign academic journal or book (with external audit system) or presenting no less than 2 papers in domestic or foreign conference.

          三、修業期間完成數位教材作品,並經所務會議審查同意者,相關辦法另訂之。

      3. Completing the digital teaching materials before graduation and be censored by the Meeting of Institute Affairs. Relevant measures shall be stipulated separately.

     四、完成修習本校規定之學術研究倫理教育課程,並檢附中文修課證明。

4. Complete the courses at the Center for Academic Research Ethics Education in school regulations and attach certificate of course attendance in Chinese.

第十四條  碩士班研究生學位考試之申請,應於本校規定期限內提出;學位考試

論文初稿須經論文指導教授簽名同意,並在口試日二週前送達口試委員。

Article 14      A master student application for a degree examination shall be made before the deadline set by the University. A draft of thesis for degree examination shall be signed and approved by adviser(s) and delivered to examination committee members at least two weeks before the date of examination.

第十五條  碩士學位論文口試委員會由委員三人組成之。口試委員之遴聘,需

得指導教授及所務會議同意。指導教授為口試當然委員,並至少有校

外委員一人。學位論文口試委員全體親自出席始進行考試,指導教授

不得擔任口試委員會主席。

Article 15      A committee of examination for master’s degree shall be composed of 3 persons. The selection of the committee members must be approved by adviser(s) and the Meeting of Department Affairs. The advisor(s) is ex-officio member(s) and at least one member of the committee is outside the University. All members of the degree examination committee shall attend in person and then proceed the test. An adviser cannot be a chairperson of committee.

第十六條  本所碩士班學位論文口試成績不及格,其修業年限尚未届滿者,得於

次學期申請重考。重考以一次為限,重考成績不及格者應予退學。

Article 16      A master student of the Department, who fails degree examination and has not reached the end of maximum duration of study, shall apply for a retake examination in the next semester. A master student shall take no more than one retake examination. If failing the retake examination, the student shall be suspended from school.

第十七條  本所碩士班研究生通過學位考試者,准予畢業,並授予碩士學位。

Article 17       A master student at the Institute who passes a degree examination shall be allowed to graduate and awarded a Master’s Degree by the University.

第十八條  研究生之學位論文有抄襲或舞弊情事,經考試委員審查確定者,以不

及格論。如已授予學位,撤銷並追繳已發之學位證書。

Article 17      If the plagiarism and fraudulence of a graduate student’s degree thesis is confirmed by the review of examination committee members, his/her thesis shall be regarded as failure. If the degree has been awarded, the conferred degree certificate shall be withdrawn and returned.

第三章  附則

Chapter III Supplementary Provisions

第十九條   本規則如有未盡事宜,依教育部有關法令及本校學則等其他有關規定辦理。

Article 19         All other relevant matters not covered in the Regulations shall be governed by pertinent regulations of the Ministry of Education and the University.

第二十條   本規則得由本所依教學與研究發展之需要修訂之。修訂草案得經由所長提出,或經本系專任教師三人以上連署,提交所務會議討論。經所務會議通過修訂後之規則,其適用日期及對象,依所務會議決議辦理。

Article 20      The Regulations shall be revised according to the need of the development of instruction and research in the Institute. The draft amendment shall be proposed by the chairperson or cosigned by no less than 3 full-time teachers and submitted to the Meeting of Institute Affairs in discussion. The effective date and applicable subjects of revised and passed regulations by the Meeting of Institute Affairs shall be processed according to the resolutions of the Meeting of Institute Affairs.

第二十一條  本規則經所務會議及院務會議通過,提請教務會議備查後實施。

Article 21      The Regulations and any amendment to the Regulations shall be promulgated and enacted after approved by the Meeting of Institute Affairs and reported to the Meeting of Academic Affairs for acknowledgement.
