Academic Regulations for Master’s Program Students

第一條  本所碩士班研究生之入學、修課、考試及畢業等有關事項,依本校學則及本規則辦理。
Article 1  Admission, coursework, examinations, and graduation matters for master's students in the Institute of Curriculum Instruction and Technology (hereinafter referred to as "the Institute") are governed by the academic regulations of National Chi Nan University (hereinafter referred to as "the University") and these Academic Regulations for Master’s Program Students (hereinafter referred to as "the Regulations").


第一章 入學與修課
Chapter I: Admission and Curriculum

第二條  本所碩士班招收對象包括一般生和在職生。
Article 2  The Institute offers its master’s program to both full-time and part-time, in-service students.

第三條  本所碩士班研究生之修業年限,以一至四年為限,在職研究生至多得延長二年。
Article 3  The standard duration of study for master's students in the Institute is one to four years, with part-time in-service students eligible for a maximum extension of two years.

第四條  本所碩士班課程分為基礎課程必修十學分,選修至少二學分;理論課程必修四學分,選修至少六學分;應用課程選修至少八學分。除論文外,共合計最低需修滿三十二學分。
Article 4  The master’s program curriculum includes a "Fundamental Curriculum" with 10 mandatory credits and at least 2 elective credits, a "Theoretical Curriculum" with 4 mandatory credits and at least 6 elective credits, and an "Applied Curriculum" requiring at least 8 elective credits. Excluding the thesis, students must complete a minimum of 32 credits in total.

第五條  本所一般生第一學年每學期最低應修九學分,最高為十二學分;在職生(含報考一般生,但入學後實際上有專任工作且在職者)第一學年每學期選修至少六學分,最高十學分。若有特殊原因者,須具體述明理由,經導師或指導教授同意後,且由所務會議審核通過後方屬有效。
Article 5  In the first academic year, full-time students must enroll in at least 9 and no more than 12 credits per semester; part-time in-service students must enroll in at least 6 and no more than 10 credits per semester. Exceptions for special circumstances require detailed justification and approval from a mentor or advisor, followed by ratification in the Institute Affairs Meeting.

第六條  本所碩士班研究生若欲選修他系所之課程,須經本所同意後方採計其學分。至於跨校選修部份,依本校相關規定辦理。
Article 6  Students wishing to take courses from other departments must receive approval from our Institute. Inter-institutional elective courses are subject to the University's relevant regulations.

第七條  本所碩士班研究生若於入學前已獲他校碩士學位者,或已修讀教育相關研究所在職進修學分班結業者,其原修習課程如與本所碩士班課程相似,其學分採計辦法,依教育部及本校相關規定辦理。
Article 7  Students who have already earned a master's degree from another institution or have completed an in-service education-related master's credit program may transfer similar course credits in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and the University.

第八條  本所研究生各科學業成績以一百分為滿分,七十分為及格;不及格者不得補考,必修科目應予重修。
Article 8  Graduate students are graded on a scale of 100, with 70 as the passing mark. Students failing a course cannot retake the exam and must repeat mandatory subjects in the following semester.

第二章 考試畢業
Chapter II: Examinations and Graduation

第九條  論文指導教授之選定,以本所專任教師為優先,其次為本所兼任教師。如因論文研究需要,可商請非本所專、兼任教師擔任指導教授。論文指導教授最多以二人為限。
Article 9  Thesis advisors are primarily selected from full-time faculty in our Institute, followed by part-time faculty. If necessary for research, non-departmental full-time or part-time faculty may be appointed as advisors. A maximum of two advisors are permitted for thesis guidance.

第十條  指導教授之決定由研究生先行洽詢教師意願,並填寫申請書經所務會議通過後,依學校程序致發聘函。
Article 10  The selection of advisors begins with the student consulting the teacher's willingness to advise, followed by an application process. After the Institute Affairs Meeting approval, the College of Education and the University President will issue an official appointment letter.

第十一條  本所碩士班研究生論文題目之選定,需徵得指導教授與所務會議同意。
Article 11  Graduate students must obtain approval from their advisors and the Institute Affairs Meeting for their thesis topics.

第十二條  研究生對論文題目之修改及論文內容之研究與撰寫,應受指導教授之指導。指導教授之變更須經新任指導教授與所務會議之同意,並知會原指導教授。
Article 12  Thesis topic modifications and content development must be supervised by the student's advisor(s). Any change in advisors requires approval from the new advisor and the Institute Affairs Meeting, with the original advisor being informed of the change.

第十三條  本所碩士班研究生學位考試之申請,應具備下列各項資格:
Article 13  To qualify for the degree examination, a master's student must:
一、修畢本所規定之畢業學分數(不含論文),附學校核發的成績單、發表著作證明,且通過研究計畫口試達四個月以上者,方能提出論文口試之申請。
二、修業期間在國內外學術期刊或專書(具外審制度)發表一篇(章)以上論文,或在國內外學術研討會發表二篇以上論文。
三、修業期間完成數位教材作品,並經所務會議審查同意者,相關辦法另訂之。
四、完成修習本校規定之學術研究倫理教育課程,並檢附中文修課證明。

(1) complete a minimum of 32 credits (excluding the thesis) as per Institute regulations, attach a university-issued transcript, and have passed oral presentations for their research plan for at least four months; 
(2) publish at least one paper in a domestic or international academic journal or present at least two papers at academic conferences; 
(3) complete digital teaching materials subject to the Institute Affairs Meeting review; and
(4) complete the University's required courses in academic research ethics, with proof of course completion in Chinese.

第十四條  碩士班研究生學位考試之申請,應於本校規定期限內提出;學位考試論文初稿須經論文指導教授簽名同意,並在口試日二週前送達口試委員。
Article 14  Applications for a master's degree examination must be submitted by the University's deadline. The thesis draft must be signed and approved by the advisor(s) and delivered to the examination committee members at least two weeks before the examination date.

第十五條  碩士學位論文口試委員會由委員三人組成之。口試委員之遴聘,需得指導教授及所務會議同意。指導教授為口試當然委員,並至少有校外委員一人。學位論文口試委員全體親自出席始進行考試,指導教授不得擔任口試委員會主席。
Article 15  The examination committee for a master’s degree consists of three members, appointed with the consent of the advisor(s) and the Institute Affairs Meeting. The advisor serves as an ex-officio member, and at least one external member is required. The examination can only proceed with all committee members present; the advisor cannot serve as the committee chair.

第十六條  本所碩士班學位論文口試成績不及格,其修業年限尚未届滿者,得於次學期申請重考。重考以一次為限,重考成績不及格者應予退學。
Article 16  Students who fail the thesis defense and have not exceeded the maximum duration of study may apply for a re-examination in the next semester. Only one re-examination is allowed. Students who fail the re-examination will be required to leave the program.

第十七條  本所碩士班研究生通過學位考試者,准予畢業,並授予碩士學位。
Article 17  Students who pass the degree examination will be granted graduation and awarded a Master’s Degree by the University.

第十八條  研究生之學位論文有抄襲或舞弊情事,經考試委員審查確定者,以不及格論。如已授予學位,撤銷並追繳已發之學位證書。
Article 18  If a student's thesis is found to involve plagiarism or fraud and this is confirmed by the examination committee, the thesis will be deemed as failed. If the degree has already been awarded, the degree certificate will be revoked and must be returned.

第三章  附則
Chapter III: Supplementary Provisions

第十九條  本規則如有未盡事宜,依教育部有關法令及本校學則等其他有關規定辦理。
Article 19  Matters not covered in these Regulations will be governed by the relevant laws of the Ministry of Education and other related University regulations.

第二十條  本規則得由本所依教學與研究發展之需要修訂之。修訂草案得經由所長提出,或經本系專任教師三人以上連署,提交所務會議討論。經所務會議通過修訂後之規則,其適用日期及對象,依所務會議決議辦理。
Article 20  These Regulations may be amended to meet the needs of teaching and research development within the Institute. Proposed amendments can be initiated by the Institute Chair or co-signed by at least three full-time faculty members and then discussed in the Institute Affairs Meeting. The effective date and applicability of the amended Regulations, once approved, will be determined based on the resolutions of the Institute Affairs Meeting.

第二十一條  本規則經所務會議及院務會議通過,提請教務會議備查後實施。
Article 21  These Regulations and any amendments will be implemented after approval by the Institute Affairs Meeting and subsequent review by the Academic Affairs Meeting of the University.
